On 28th and 29th of June YEE's Secretary General and Networking Coordinator attended the 4th STEP project meeting in Heraklion. The meeting was hosted by the local authority in the Region of Crete, Greece. Project partners as well as representatives of the local authority took part in discussions, presentations and workshops on the topic of youth engagement in decision-making processes.
The first day started with a public presentation of the STEP project and platform. People in the audience had the chance to express ideas and make comments and there was an animated dialogue regarding the STEP platform. After the presentation partners took part in a platform training workshop, where pilot partners explored how to use the platform and what are the benefits for young users.
During the second day partners discussed upon the progress in the project's work packages (Project Management, Analysis and requirements, e-Participation platform integration, Engagement and motivation strategies for youth participation, Pilot operation and evaluation, Dissemination, Exploitation). YEE also presented ideas for the project's and platform's dissemination at European level.
The first version STEP platform will be launched soon and young people will be able to try some exciting features to express their views on environmental issues.
