News from the training course “Youth exploring participation”

YEE is happy to share the news from the first activity of our long-term project “Active youth-better environment!” - the training course “Youth exploring participation”. The training course was organised on 17-23 March 2018 in ecological center Kapraluv Mlyn in the Czech Republic.

From the very beginning we dived deep into exploring the topic of youth participation - our group of participants was very motivated and enthusiastic to learn as much as possible. During the training course we explored the definitions of active citizenship, public and youth participation. We discussed traditional and innovative forms of participation, learned to make community mapping and also used group’s wisdom to discuss challenges that stop young people from participating. We also learned more about the importance of inclusion in youth projects and some practical tips on how to organise direct actions.

We believe that the results of our work can be useful for any environmental youth organisation which wants to involve young people. We invite you to read this report from the training course - it has description of methods which we used, results of discussions and presentations. All on the topic of youth participation!

You can find the report here.

Stay tuned for more news from our project - the next steps are launch of the campaign “Take a green stand” and training course “Youth for environmental future”!
