Can you introduce yourself?
Hey, I’m Raz. I’m 22 years old, come from Armenia and currently study microbiology. I like to hike, travel around Armenia, explore uncommon places and hitchhike.
Which YEE member organisation do you belong to? What are the main activities of your organisation?
I am working in "Young Biologists Association" NGO as Education and Scientific Research Officer. Our organisation works in both scientific and environmental areas. One of the main aims of our organisation is to gather biologists together, develop biology in Armenia and to lead our society to a better environment and environmental way of thinking.
How did you get involved in YEE? What was your first impression about YEE?
I knew about YEE since 2015. Our organisation was involved in YEE and I was invited to present my organisation at Annual Meeting.
What is YEE for you?
For me YEE is a place to share and generate ideas, have an impact, make a change.
Why did you want to become a member of YEE Board?
I thought that I can share my experience in publication and promotion to make the message of YEE more visible and involve bigger audience.
What is your main aim as a 2016 - 2017 Board member?
I aim to make YEE more visible, involve more organisations. Also I want to engage more young people in YEE actions.
Why do you care about the environment? What does the environment mean to you?
I was born and raised in the city, but from early childhood I was spending my summers in our countryside house, which is far from the city. And from that time I was planting trees and taking care of them. The idea of a clean and good environment was following me my whole life. Nature is a very important part of me, and I care about it as I would care about any of my relatives and friends.
