YEE held the training course of “Youth for environmental future” at Slunakov, an ecological center in Czech Republic, between 8th to 15th of July. YEE gathered 30 youth workers and young people from Europe to learn about environmental decision-making and how it is conducted on different levels: from local to international, to discover more about concrete international frameworks and explore different ways of bringing them back to local reality. The training course was the second activity of the project “Active youth-better environment!”

YEE Member Organisations’ delegates, Board and Secretariat, gathered for 3 days in the eco-center Slunakov, Czech Republic for the Annual Meeting. This year’s meeting was full of emotions and creative ideas, as well as some big expectations for the future.

The Annual Meeting is an opportunity to reflect on what was done by the Board and Secretariat during the whole year, but also to plan the next steps when it comes to YEE’s structure and activities. The General Assembly approved the budget for 2018 as well as the draft budget for 2019 and adopted 5 projects for the YEE Work Plan 2019, with 3 projects initiated by Member Organisations. The meeting also included a long-term reflection about YEE’s focus for the next few years in order to shape the new Strategic Plan for 2020-2022.

YEE is happy to share our new publication "Uniting youth for ecotourism". The publication was created by YEE team as a follow-up of the international training course of the same name. The training course was organised by YEE in November 2017 with the aim of exploring youth involvement and participation in ecotourism activities. We wanted to learn more about what ecotourism is and how young people can get involved with their local communities through organising ecotourism events and activities.

June is here and the first summer issue of YEE e-Newsletter is ready for you! This month YEE brought its voice to many European events such as EuroDIG 2018 and European Youth Event. We are also working hard for the preparation of the Annual Meeting and the celebration of YEE 35th birthday! And our members are very active as well: read about their wonderful community-based environmental projects!

This year again, YEE and Tamjdem organised a volunteering time in Toulcuv Dvur. This ecological centre welcomes schools, families, as well as any people in need for some nature. Therefore, there is always plenty of things to do and volunteers’ help is always welcome.

Last Saturday, we helped Vášek from the organization “Envira” in the “clay park”. There was a fence to be painted, but also (a lot of) wood to be cut and stored next to the traditional ceramic oven, for future clay productions. Altogether, we did a good job! We also discovered some very interesting information about Toulcuv Dvur, and tasted some tea cooked in traditional ceramics.
