Call for a prep-team

Youth and Environment Europe is announcing an open call for members of the preparatory team (prep-team) for the Training Course “Understanding Legislation” as part of the Youth and Environment Local long-term project.

The training course will take place in Armenia between 07/08/2022 and 14/08/2022. The team of the TOT will be formed by 4 team members coming from YEE member organisations. The team of trainers will be responsible for planning and implementing the educational program of the project. In addition, there will be 2 support staff from the host organisation in Armenia, Yeghvard Youth Ecological NGO. We expect to have a gender-balanced team of trainers and will support the cultural and geographical diversity of the project participants.

The objectives of the training course are:

  • Explore and clarify the processes of environmental policy-making, to support a better understanding of environmental law and environmental issues among young people
  • Develop participants’ competencies in planning, implementing, and evaluating nonformal educational activities on environmental issues, environmental law, and climate crisis
  • Develop a hands-on workshop plan on environmental policy papers which will be exercised on an environmental level.

Methodology:

The program will be based on the principles of non-formal education and intercultural learning.

We strive for active, inclusive and direct communication and transfer and sharing of knowledge. Sessions will be balanced between theoretical inputs, training, workshops, discussions, reflection, planning, brainstorming and other interactive methods of learning.

Requirements and conditions

Who we need

In order to be considered for the position, you should:

  • Be between 18 and 30 years old
  • Live in Armenia, Czechia, Georgia, Germany, Poland, Switzerland, Belgium, Ukraine, Moldova, Netherlands, Spain, Portugal;
  • Speak English (you should be able to clearly express yourself both orally and in writing).
  • Willing to take on a challenge;
  • Ready to fulfill tasks and support the rest of the group;
  • Committed to the aims of the project and YEE values;
  • Familiar with non-formal education methods.
Responsibilities

The main responsibility of the prep team is the preparation of the project phases with the full support of a trainer and project team.

In particular:

  • Preparation and implementation of the program, designing and preparing training sessions based on non-formal education methodology, invitation, and communication with speakers, experts, trainers, and partners in accordance with the project aims;
  • Participation in the preparatory online meetings prior to the event (May 2022 – July 2022 // 1-2h a week)
  • Participation in the live prep team meeting in June (dates to be confirmed);
  • Full participation during the entire event between 07-14 August 2022;
  • Taking care of practicalities and for the general well-being of the participants during the event.

  • Experience in managing youth projects – preparation, implementation, evaluation, follow up and reporting;

During the training couse

The team of trainers will be hosted in Crystal Resort hotel, in double rooms. 2 working days in prep-meeting and 8 days in the project.

They will get:

  • 3 meals and 2 coffee breaks will be covered everyday.
  • Accommodation and food will be covered by the project.
  • 100% of the travel costs and the visa costs for the team members will be covered by the project as well.
  • Each prep team member will be reimbursed 500 euros for their contribution to the training design and implementation.
