Call for volunteers

Youth and Environment Europe is looking for three volunteers (for 7-10 hours per week, remote possible) who would contribute to YEE’s portfolio on climate crisis, help liaising with organisations working on climate action, support our preparations for next UN Climate Change Conference of Parties (COP27) including being part of the delegation.

Starting date: as soon as possible.

Who are we looking for

We welcome applications from those who are interested in the topic, are motivated to learn, and are passionate about advocating for youth voices in Climate Change decision-making.

You should:

Have good communication skills and speak English well (they should be able to clearly express themselves both orally and in writing), knowledge of another European language or Arabic will be an asset;
Have knowledge on/be interested in topics related to Climate Crisis;
Welcome new challenges as learning opportunities;
Be willing to support the rest of the group and be a team player;
Be committed to the aims of the project and YEE values
Having experience in activism, supporting youth organisations and social movements is an asset.

Responsibilities

The aim of this activity is to represent young people that would otherwise stay unheard. At YEE we want to support youth, especially from underrepresented countries and marginalised communities in order to emphasize the urgency of tackling the climate crisis and to share hopeful stories of change led by young women, Roma people, LGBTQ+ youth, and other youth communities that experience inequality and discrimination.

Your job would be:

to actively follow at least one of the priority topics and agenda items of the upcoming COP27;
engage with other organisations involved in climate actio;
support the planning and facilitation of YEE’s events on the road and during COP27;
provide inputs to YEE’s COP27 related materials.
