Call for a full-time Project Manager

YEE is looking for a full-time (40 hours per week) Project Manager to work with us on international youth projects and promote inclusion of diverse young people in the European youth climate movement and environmental decision-making processes in our office in Prague.

Who are we looking for:

A young European between 18 and 29 years old, based in Prague or able to relocate to Prague, Czechia.

  • With some experience in either of these areas: project management, project writing and reporting, budgeting and financial reporting for projects.
  • With at least basic managerial experience and/or coordination of several projects at a time.
  • With a strong ability to communicate clearly and consistently in a group setting.
  • Extremely well-organised and result-oriented, able to manage their time, set priorities, find resources and deliver results autonomously.
  • Comfortable working in an agile environment.
  • With a kind, sensitive and intersectional approach to people.

Due to time constraints, we are able to accept only applications from candidates who already have a valid EU work permit.

Would be an asset:

  • Experience in working with marginalised communities (BIPOC, LGBTQ+, Roma people, etc.).
  • Knowledge of the climate crisis, environmental movements, policy, UN processes, European policy, involvement in or good understanding of Green movements and Green politics.
  • Experience in youth exchanges, non-formal education, Erasmus+ projects.
  • Experience in managing volunteers.

What the job will entail:

  • Leading the flagship project of YEE, Showcasing the Unheard, scheduled to run till March 2023 (read the details about the project here). The project contributes to making the European youth climate movement more resilient and inclusive, and to opening the gates to young people with fewer opportunities to become future decision-makers. The main objectives of the project are to build the capacity of NGOs in Europe (including YEE) to work with marginalised communities, and to showcase the stories of young people from marginalised communities already acting against the climate crisis. Please, note that a part of this project is development of a Safeguarding Policy of YEE.
  • The second project of manager’s portfolio will be SWITCH (see the details here).
  • Overseeing further projects of YEE, finding links between projects and ensuring their most effective realisation.
  • Reporting to the funders in their project portfolio: writing narrative reports, preparing financial reports together with the Secretary General.
  • Developing further project concepts and applications.
  • Engaging YEE’s Member Organisations into projects.
  • Regularly updating the YEE team about the progress of their work, attending team and statutory meetings, regional meetings with member organisations of YEE.
  • Occasionally, work during weekends and/or in evenings is required and will be compensated with equal time off.

What we offer:

  • A 12-month full-time (40 hours per week) employment contract with social and health insurance in Prague, Czechia. The contract will be prolonged upon one year of employment till at least March 2023.
  • A monthly net salary of 37 000 CZK.
  • Work at the office in the Prague city centre, together with an ambitious and supportive international team in Prague and all over Europe.
  • Non-hierarchical setting with plenty of opportunities to input, co-design processes, participate in organisational decision making, and grow as a professional.
  • A milestone in your career. You will get to work with a variety of stakeholders and create an impressive portfolio of achievements.

Starting date: as soon as possible.
