Hey, I’m Sasha

I’m Sasha, I was born and raised in the beautiful county of Derbyshire in a small town close to the Peak District National Park. I moved to a nearby city, Sheffield, when I was 18 to study Environmental Science. My passion for my degree led me in to environmental and social activism both nationally and internationally. I have been lucky enough to volunteer in Nicaragua, Germany, Georgia, the USA and Lithuania.

Now I’m in Prague in the YEE office as an ESC volunteer. Knowing that I can connect both of my environmental and social passions to empower youth to make change in our environment is a great way to not only help others, but enable my own personal growth. It is within my instilled value to work with a positive purpose with my morals at the heart of what I do. I’ve worked many positions during my studies such as being a Pharmacy Assistant to a Retail Assistant and working at McDonalds, and whilst these positions earned me a living, they did not enrich any motivations that I have now. Since my first ‘big girl’ position at an Environmental Charity in London, I have realised that the Charity sector is for me.

I am eager to learn how an NGO works and maybe in the future create my own!
