Karolina Fabianová – Project Manager, YEE

My name is Karolina and I come from Slovakia where I was living until I decided to study abroad. I did my masters of science in International Development Studies in Czech Republic. During my studies I have developed my strong passion for environment, project management and sustainable development.

In 2017 I travelled to Ghana to conduct a case study research within the Ghana WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) Project. It was a great intercultural project management experience focused on I mproving community water access and waste management. In 2018 I did my traineeship in Brussels where I was working at the Representation of the Bratislava Region to the EU. After the
graduation in 2019 I did a graduate traineeship at the European
Committee of the Regions in Brussels.

For 6 months I became a part of the Commission for Natural Resources covering EU policy areas such as Common Agricultural Policy and Rural Development, Forestry, Food Production, Public Health and Tourism, implementing different EU projects. After returning from Brussels, I started working as a Communication & Performance Manager for youth educational NGO Mladiinfo Slovakia. Although I love my beautiful hometown Bratislava I felt like I want to work in a truly international environment again. So I applied for the Project Manager position at the YEE and here I am. In addition to my professional life, I am creative, open minded and positive person always trying to bring out the best in people and life.

My role in this Prep-team and in the whole project Imagining the Green Future including the training course is to provide an overview and manage the smooth flow of the project activities, to ensure the objectives of the project are met. That means to coordinate the logistics, to communicate with stakeholders and partners as well as to coordinate the Prep-team, to coordinate the delivery and implementation of the program flow and methodology. To make sure that everything what the Prepteam will do together is relevant to YEE mission and values, to our funders and to our strategy. At the same time, is my responsibility to provide the Prep-team with the logistics, travel and communication support. During the training course, I can also contribute with my topical expertise on  topics such as sustainable development principles, communication, EU funding or project management
