Meet our online volunteer, Chloé ten Brink.
My name is Chloé. I am 19 years old, and I grew up in Belgium. I am currently doing my bachelors at Sciences Po Paris, Campus du Havre – a campus focused on Asia. Before that, I completed the International Baccalaureate at the United World College of Changshu China in 2019. My interest in environmental questions has been growing since my early teens, pushing me to make personal life changes, but it was when I lived in China that I started to get actively involved. Living in a city two hours away from Shanghai, I was confronted with the reality of air pollution and the almost-overwhelming abundance of plastic in everyday life. This pushed me to start Meat-free Mondays on my campus and be part of creating a dialogue on sustainability within our student body. Now at university, I head communications for Sciences Po Environnement Le Havre and had the opportunity to start a podcast this semester on the environmental movement.
I am really excited and grateful to be able to take my interest in environmental questions from a campus-level to a broader European level by volunteering in advocacy for YEE.
