Call for a Non-Formal education trainer: “Time for YOUth to Speak Climate“

YEE is looking for a enthusiastic, motivated and experienced Non-Formal education trainer for our long-term project “Youth Digital Communic[ACTION]” with the main objectives of supporting and empowering young people and youth organisations in developing their digital communication skills and strategies and helping them communicate their messages and concerns about the current climate crisis efficiently in the digital environment.

Who are we looking for:

• A professional trained in the methods of Non-Formal Education (NFE) and experiential learning
• Someone with a track of training/education in NFE OR a proven track of conducted training.
• With experience in working with young, international groups of people
• Fluent in English
• With a strong ability to communicate clearly and consistently in a group setting.
• Able to work independently without significant oversight and deliver results on time.
• Well-organised and skilled in training other people in NFE.
• With a kind, sensitive and intersectional approach to people.
• Be comfortable with problem-solving quickly and calmly when things do not go to plan, especially when around the participants.

Would be an asset:

• Experience in Non-Formal Environmental And Nature Education
• Knowledge in digital communication and communication strategies
• Awareness of environmental issues and the climate crisis
• Experience of work in an intercultural setting

What the job will entail:

• Preparing a program with a team of volunteers for our activities involving NFE methods and intercultural experiential learning;
• Supporting the team of volunteers to deliver the program;
• Helping with the facilitation of the program during the two, week-long activities;
• A preparatory weekend in Prague on the 15.-17. of October 2021(arrival on 15th departure on 17th in the evening); and subsequent checking-in with the team of volunteers before the training course;
• A training course in Estonia between 22.-28. of November 2021 “Time for YOUth to Speak Climate”;
• A preparatory period in Vienna on the 10.-13. of February 2022 (arrival on 10th departure on 13th in the evening); and subsequent checking-in with the team of volunteers before the creative workshop;
• A creative workshop in Vienna on the 21.- 27. of March 2022 “From Youth Climate Voice to Youth Climate Action”.

What we offer:

• All travel, accommodation and food costs covered;
• 2x €600 for preparatory phases;
• 2x €1400 for the week-long activities
