On the 16th of November 2018, Eco-UNESCO’s workshop took place in Dublin, Ireland. This youth led workshop focused on the issue of climate change and the role we play in it. There are many man-made problems that have risen and there are youth led solutions to these.
We explored topics that illustrate the causation of this international crises and the effects it has on people across this world with the participants showcasing some of the problems in Dublin and coming up with solutions to these. Ways in how the city can be improved if we used more sustainable means of developing the city for the people who live there.
We looked at how our decisions here, through the way we consume in today’s modern society have repercussion elsewhere in the world on its citizens and the environment. We looked at how young people can empower one and other to take a stand against these injustices. Through change in themselves and how this in turn can create a movement that makes larger change in society. We looked at the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals as reference to where we need to be and what we need to do to create a world that provides equal rights for all its inhabitants.
