Gagik Harutyunyan

Communications Officer

Hi! I’m Gagik, originally from Armenia, now living in Moscow.

Gago, tell us a bit more about yourself!

I have studied International Relations at Yerevan State University, where I’ve started to be interested in working with non-governmental organizations, as I’ve realized that the core of many social issues is the inactivity of people who have a lack of education to advocate for their rights.

As a person who cares about the environment, soon I was involved in Yeghvard Youth Ecological NGO and after a couple of years of collaborative work, I was nominated to represent our NGO in YEE as a Communications Officer.

Since then I am largely involved in Youth Work. I truly believe in Human Solidarity and in the power of ideological unity.

What are some of the causes you care about?

I care about Human Rights and everything surrounding the topic. I am deeply convinced that without the protection of individual and specific rights of people, there is no constructive development of civilization.

What do you hope the world will look like in 2050?

I hope the world would be a more diverse and free place with more open and educated societies. And also with fresher air to breathe.

If you could time-travel, what era would you like to visit and why?

I know that the 80s were full of disasters but I like 80s music, so I would like to party in the best Disco clubs of the era, wearing 80s trashy costumes.

What are you happiest doing, when you’re not working?

I write songs and music on my laptop (at least I’m trying…). I also like psychology and I read a lot of books about it.

Give us one quote that describes your personality, or that you simply love!

‘Kill them with kindness.’
