Hello, I am Laura. I am from Germany but currently living in Belgium.
Laura, tell us a bit more about yourself!
I lead the environmental law work of YEE where we aim to build capacity and awareness about EU environmental law to empower young people to make use of the legal tools out there and to strengthen political advocacy with legal arguments.
I studied law in the UK, the Netherlands and Germany, focused on international environmental law in my Masters, and have previously worked and interned in EU environmental law and policy. Besides YEE, I am a Policy Officer for Biodiversity and EU Affairs at the European Environmental Bureau in Brussels.
What are some of the causes you care about?
Intergenerational equity, biodiversity, feminism, waste and of course environmental law and justice more broadly.
What are you happiest doing, when you’re not working?
Being in nature, hiking, making and eating delicious vegan food, baking bread, learning about fermentation or pottery, doing a bit of yoga and hopefully taking up bouldering
YEE aims to unite environmental youth non-profit organisations in Europe in order to enhance international cooperation, increase knowledge about the climate crisis, raise awareness of environmental problems and to strengthen participation of youth in environmental decision-making.
