Lise Fortin

Project Lead on Green Cities

Hi! My name is Lise, I’m 21 and I’m a climate activist from Paris, France.

Lise, tell us a bit about yourself!

After having volunteered for many years for the empowerment of youth in Europe and for environmental and social justice, joining YEE is the perfect way to unite these two causes that matter a lot to me. As the Project Lead on Green Cities, I am particularly working on the organization of the Youth Green Conference in Grenoble (France), which was awarded European Green Capital for 2022.

Apart from that, I hold a double bachelor in History and Political science from La Sorbonne in Paris and I would love to continue my studies in the ecological transition of cities. My main hobbies in life are watching movies, eating and drinking tea with my friends, while talking about how to change the world!

What are you happiest doing, when you’re not working?

I would say hanging out with my friends and family, reading Jane Austen novels, fighting for what I believe right, cooking, drawing and (I’m not very proud of that) doing karaoke!

Give us one quote that describes your personality, or that you simply love!

‘We rip out so much of ourselves to be cured of things faster than we should that we go bankrupt by the age of thirty and have less to offer each time we start with someone new. But to feel nothing so as not to feel anything – what a waste!’ Andre Aciman, Call Me By Your Name
