Mery Vanessa Vanesyan
Intersectionality Liaison Officer
Hi! I am Mery Vanessa from Armenia.
Mery, tell us a bit more about yourself!
I have been working in the field of youth work for more than 5 years now, and during my journey I have had the pleasure of working with many talented youngsters towards inclusion, environmental protection, youth activism and human rights.
I became part of YEE in March of 2021 as an Advocacy Support Officer and later in August got the position of Intersectionality Liaison Officer. It has been my biggest honour working in a team full of enthusiastic people who never stop working towards a better future and continue changing lives.
What are some of the causes you care about?
Making everyone feel included no matter their differences and creating a safe space for people.
What do you hope the world will look like in 2050?
A place full of happy faces and different old and new species of animals that we successfully saved, living under good conditions. A place, with fresher and cleaner air, green everywhere and a place that naturally makes you happy.
If you could time-travel, what era would you like to visit and why?
To the future to see if we made it :).
What are you happiest doing, when you’re not working?
Finding exciting new books in a library or simply being around my friends.
Give us one quote that describes your personality, or that you simply love!
‘There is still time for you to be all that you want to be.’
