Paola Lupi
External Relations Officer
Hi! I am Paola. I am a 21-years-old Italian student, currently located in the UK.
Paola, tell us a bit more about yourself!
As part of my role in YEE I work with the advocacy working group and connect with our external partners in the youth and the environmental world. Among other things, I represent YEE in Generation Climate Europe’s board and in November 2021 I was one of YEE’s delegates to COP26 – a truly incredible experience. I love volunteering at YEE because of the incredible connections, empowering work and depth of knowledge that I was given the opportunity to gain here!
What are some of the causes you care about?
Climate and social justice, with a focus on just transition for workers. Also, the hardship faced by refugees and undocumented immigrants.
What do you hope the world will look like in 2050?
10 years-old me would have said: flying cars. Now, I’d say far less cars of any kind, and a stronger reliance on public transportation, a world that is less unequal and made up of loving and supportive communities.
If you could time-travel, what era would you like to visit and why?
Either Ancient Crete or 2000 years in the future – possibly both. To see how many things have changed and how many still can.
What are you happiest doing, when you’re not working?
Cooking with friends!
