Timea Tutto
Liaison Officer on Climate Crisis
Hi! My name is Timea and I come from Hungary.
Timea, tell us a bit more about yourself!
My academic background is a bilingual bachelor’s in International Studies, obtained from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Together with my personal background, it has led me to develop a special interest for migration flows and trends and its connections to human rights, gender, and the environment.
I am currently a master’s degree student of Development and International Cooperation Sciences at the Sapienza University of Rome and I believe that taking part in a youth organization such as YEE is a great opportunity to be in touch with individuals, member organizations and institutions who are currently responsible and contribute to shaping the future of the policies and mechanisms that will take place both within and outside of the EU with the aim of mitigating climate change.
What are some of the causes you care about?
Climate and biodiversity crisis, climate justice, human rights, sustainable food systems.
What do you hope the world will look like in 2050?
I hope that advocacy, results of scientific research and new technologies will influence decision-makers, so that we will make a good progress with the SDGs and respect the planetary boundaries once again.
If you could time-travel, what era would you like to visit and why?
The era before the agricultural revolution 10 000 years ago, to see how our lives and communities looked like as hunter-gatherers.
What are you happiest doing, when you’re not working?
Hiking, yoga, learning languages, travellin.
