In the end of November, the European Commission has published its proposal for the future programme which is going to replace Youth in Action  - 'Erasmus for all: the EU Programme for Education, Training, Youth and Sport' that describes its vision for the EU budget in the field of youth and education.

Against the advice of the youth sector, the Commission has decided to integrate all learning programmes into one mayor 'Erasmus for All' programme. You can read this proposal on following website: http://ec.europa.eu/education/erasmus-for-all.

Since 1985, 5th of December is designated by the United Nations as the International Volunteer Day. This day offers you, whether you are an organisation or individual volunteer, an opportunity to make your volunteering activities visible at local, national or international level. The aim of this day is to thank volunteers for their efforts and also increase public awareness on their contribution to the society.

Check out also the United Nations Volunteers‘ (UNV) online initiative to mark the International Volunteer Day 2011by which the UNV aims to showcase the power of volunteering and why it matters - volunteeringmatters.unv.org.

Volunteers from all around the world have been sharing their photographs and testimonies of ongoing volunteer action as part of the UNV photo contest from 30 October to 6 December. The UNV campaign will culminate on 7 December, when a digital mosaic or ‘snapshot' of the volunteering world will be revealed!

How do you celebrate the International Volunteer Day?

YEE was invited among few other Czech organisations to present our EVS project at the EVS market.

Within the European Year of Volunteering, Czech National Agency of Youth in Action organised an action called "European Volunteering Tour" in Prague in November. The main goal of this market of sending and hosting organisations was obviously promotion of volunteering.

YEE team had the opportunity to present our activities, especially those that EVS volunteers are involved in.

Every year YEE office team goes for a day-trip for the World Water Monitoring Day. It is a good way to go a bit out of the office and get closer to nature.

WWMD is a quite simple worldwide initiative: you order the water monitoring kit on the website, go to some water body, analyze the water following the steps explained in the instructions and you obtain the results of the quality of water. WWMD is an international project so you can share the results with participating communities around the world through the website.
