Hello everybody!
I am Tasha from Serbia. As a great lover of nature, I wanted to dedicate myself to something that would be beneficial to it. That's why I chose to study Landscape Architecture, which helped me to better understand space around me and the natural processes in it, as well as interactions between humans and environment. My biggest interest was in the field of preservation and protection of nature, hence I enrolled in master studies on this subject. After venturing into the world of research, and after I felt confident enough to share gained knowledge, I joined several associations and ENGOs, believing that I can help their mission to make our environment healthier and happier. That led me to YEE, where I met a lot of like-minded young people from all over the Europe, who are very motivated to work together towards valuable changes. I was lucky enough to become a part of the Board, so in the following year I will do my best to support network and make It stronger and more noticeable.
Hello there,
My name is Tiarnan and I hail from Dublin, Ireland. My passion and pursuit in this life is to promote and protect our beautiful natural heritage. I completed a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Management and have gone on to be actively involved in various conservation and environmental educational NGO’s that seek to preserve our land, water and the wild free things that inhabit them. I want to see change in the world and myself and I believe that being involved in YEE can help me in accomplishing these aspirations.
There is in France a recurring problem that reached an extraordinary scope last summer.
Each year, the North-West beaches (Brittany region) are stricken by an invasion of green algae.
This "green tide", which results from the human impact in the area, is harmful for the environment and noxious for locals.
The story of ILVA steel plant in Taranto has attracted during decades the attention of several groups: mass medias, public opinion, national (Italian government, trade unions, municipalities, local NGOs...) and international institutions (European Commission and European Court of Justice). This article provides a short review of ILVA case until today and supports the idea that, in contemporary business models, economic interests and environmental and social parameters should be harmonized in order to guarantee long term financial wealth.
