From 29th of October to 1st of November 2014 the "Innovation in Education Gathering" took place in Prague. The gathering was co-organized by the Institute for Innovation in Education based in the University of Michigan and the Riverside International School based in Prague.

The main aim of the gathering was youth civic engagement. Youth and Environment Europe was invited to take part in the gathering. YEE Secretary General and EVS volunteers attended the gathering and took part in the discussion panel "Youth leadership". They shared their experience on how YEE helps young people to be civically engaged and empowers them to take initiative and start their own projects.

The conference encouraged intergenerational learning.The participants were from middle school to high school age and educators came from youth-focused civic organisations and universities. During the conference various projects and initiatives were presented by the professors from University of Michigan, the Institute for Innovation and Charles University. The conference had a very interesting approach, introducing sessions like the "un-conference sessions" and "jigsaw session". The sessions triggered many discussions and helped people develop their ideas. The professors and the mentors present in the gathering helped the young people shape the projects that they will carry out in the future.
