Hello wonderful YEE enthusiasts!

I am Maggie, I am from Nitra, Slovakia and I am very happy I was chosen as the new Secretary General of YEE!

I just started in the office on Monday, the 2nd of July. The nice Secretariat team is trying to get me into all the work-processes and customs. With customs I mean for example cooking. I will have to learn now how to cook (!), because the office people switch in the kitchen every day and one person cooks for all. That is very, very nice and efficient, I am only afraid that after my cooking we will have to look for new staff. I will try my best to avoid this scenario.

There are a lot of things I still need to learn, therefore Adriana stays with us in the office over the summer time, especially in July, so we make a proper transfer of all responsibilities and she provides me with her valuable know-how about YEE management, administration and fundraising etc.

So what is my backround?
Last week I said goodbye to my previous job as project manager at the Ministry of Social Affairs in Slovakia where I worked for almost two years. It was my first job after studies. Regarding the NGO sector, I have been involved with Scouts most of my life, later during my studies of international relations I joined the Young Greens and shortly after I got involved in the Federation of Young European Greens (FYEG) and got a lot of experience as a member of the Executive Committee.
I got to know YEE a little bit though the European Youth Forum network, where I have been active on behalf of FYEG and even met Kyrylo, YEE's  external relations officer from time-to-time.

So, I just started and will need some time and patience from the people in the office and I would like to ask you for yours as well. In return, I will try to do my best to benefit YEE as much as possible.

I hope to meet most of you sooner or later and to do a good job together with the new Board and this lovely office team... and with Knedlik, the office cat - the main windows supervisor.
