From REPORTING through PLANNING to ACTION!

Around 40 youAMsocks_picng delegates of YEE member organisations participated in the Annual Meeting which took place in Oucmanice, Czech Republic from the 27th till the 29th of July.

Among all the reporting, presentations, discussions, networking and planning, the delegates elected a new Executive Board and the Internal Auditors.

The project planning and networking were at the centre of attention of the AM delegates. New project proposals were created on the spot. The proposals were voted upon by the General Assembly and were transformed into new YEE Working Plan. Many interesting projects were initiated and will focus on energy, rivers, bees, environmental education, sustainable lifestyle and development of soft skills. Furthermore, strategies and development of YEE were discussed.

Saturday afternoon was dedicated to presentation of a publication about history of the International Youth Federation for Environmental Studies and Conservation (IYF), which is the mother organisation of YEE. So called „Old Socks" joined the AM, shared their experience and advices with the younger „Socks" and told stories about the organisation and their involvement, which was very inspiring. International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) was also presented at the AM and YEE was invited to join the activities of the IUCN.

For more information, please visit the AM 2012 section on the YEE website.

And here is what participants have to say about AM:

"It was very interesting - to know more about YEE, i didn't expect the long version of the movie will not be boring:) It is all I can say. What about board members: I want to wish them good luck, of course. But I also hope they will prove the speeches they had told before they were elected. I wish they will help more projects to be realized." Sofya Galanevich, Environmental Youth Club, Russia.

"It showed how professional approach YEE members have towards what they do. Succinct and to the point, the AM meetings resulted in significant changes as well as new, innovative concepts. Great experience." Tomasz Janiak, OA PTTK Kraków, Poland.

"My opinion about AM is very positive, all MOs gave their ideas about YEE's future, about
project that will be organized in the future. For my Organization as a new member gave a new
dimension of YEE structure, we learnt a lot about YEE's MOs and Board Members, their role and
their passion for development of YEE. Cooperation among board member was reflected in every step of Annual Meeting in a positive
way. The election of new member organization shows again the potential and expansion of YEE in
every part of the Europe. I think YEE is in a good way, it invites new member organization to
join for a "Green Future". Regarding New Board Member I think they come from different background and have
potential to lead in successful way the YEE's project. I wish the Board Member all the best in their work." Meivis Struga, EPER Center, Albania.

"I was surprised how many questions should be discussed during Annual Meeting. I felt weird seeing how little full member organization were present.
Before the AM I always ate meat and never ate a paprika. At the AM I did not eat a meat but I ate a lot of paprika. Actually it was not so bad!" Girts Baranovskis -YEE Treasurer.

"I enjoyed this year Annual Meeting very much. Apart from the exciting session involving
YEE senior members who shared a lot of interesting stuff from the past and encouraged
us – the young generation - to carry on pushing forward YEE ideals and principles, I
enjoyed a lot the work atmosphere that dominated throughout the whole meeting which
allowed us making important decisions that will drive the whole Federation within the
next year. Everything was simply terrific: eco-friendly accommodation, hospitable staff,
delicious vegetarian food, marvelous venue and, most importantly, nice people who do
care about our environment and put everyday efforts to make a real difference. Wish the
next year Annual Meeting to be as interesting and fruitful as this one and look forward to
meeting all you guys again"
Kyrylo Ivliev - YEE Chairperson

"In my opinion organization was very good. It was so intensive, without enough rest. For a really short time we did a lot of things. I can say that I came back home with plenty of experience.
Eko center "Paleta" was a success. When it comes to food, from the beginning I was not satisfied because I was supposed to eat just vegetarian food, but as the time went by I got used to it. I liked snacks as well.
I also liked morning activities!
Something comes to my mind from time to time...I wanted hide the ring bell from you."  Jovana Milovic, Young Researchers of Serbia, Serbia

"The voting was little bit confused and we didn't have enough time to discuss and think about some topics. Inviting the old members was at the same time extraordinary idea and little bit boring." Tijana Ljubenović, Young Researchers of Serbia, Serbia, YEE Member Organisations Officer

"Interesting experience was meeting with the members of environmental organizations before at least 40 years of age. Their unwavering commitment to work for the environment is noteworthy and provide the next generation. I liked brainstorming on new projects. First, bring a lot of fun and joy. A second for YEE they are useful for environment." Dagmara Pogorzelska, OA PTTK Warszawa, Poland
