Khazer Ecological and Cultural NGO and Youth and Environment Europe have joined together to organize a training course on River Restoration. Human impacts on natural ecosystems have been evident in Armenia since ancient times but there are also many current examples of how present day Armenians impact the forests, national parks and nature reserves.

The aim of the project is: to change participants approach to river systems and their restoration in order to provide them with the tools to achieve a better state of the environment.

The objectives of the project are:

• to raise awareness of the positive and negative impacts caused by the individual and collective human activities (anthropogenic impact) and discuss the specific cases of river ecosystems in Armenia
• to share best practices and provide the participants information on how to efficiently protect and preserve existing biodiversity in the given area,
• to develop skills of participant and provide them with information about the tools and techniques on river restoration and methods of thein protection
• to discuss the youth approach in nature protection

We have a lot of good examples where youth environmental NGOs could protect the nature and the ecosystem. The participants will be taken to the riverbanks to observe the process. They will have a chance to travel through Armenia and get acquainted with its culture.
