By the end of May I had my EVS On-arrival Training Course in Kraliky, up on a hill and right across a big monastery. One might look at me strangely after hearing this, but, in fact, I think it is the best place for bringing together a group of young, crazy volunteers, who have just started to get to know the Czech Republic.

What I really enjoyed about my On-arrival was... well, pretty much everything. The landscapes were extremely beautiful - just imagine, we spent most of our time having activities outside or relaxing on the grass, gazing at the sky and the surrounding hills - how amazing is that? The group was even better - we worked together, laughed together, suffered together (when we had to go up the hill on a very steep path) and, of course, partied together... a lot! The activities were also enjoyable, especially when we had to interact with the local community or create music by playing all sorts of instruments. The everyday Czech lessons were motivating us to learn more, but they also made us realize that Czech can be fun. Last but not least, some people said that the food was horrible, but I think it was good. After all, we had plenty of food and we didn't have to prepare it, so what more could we ask for? And the cakes - absolute heaven!

Overall, I had an amazing time with amazing people. And to prove it, I am already packing to go visit some of the EVS I met in the On-arrival. Living the EVS life is great, isn't it?
