Mushroom picking is a Czech passion, wonderfully considered a national sport.

During our midterm meeting, Jesus & I went on a supervised mushroom picking expedition with our EVS kamarády. It was a wet day. Somehow I was the only one who had remembered to bring a bag to collect the mushrooms. So I became responsible for carrying them around. Our trainers and mushroom guides explained how to identify safe and toxic mushrooms. As a rule, you should avoid mushrooms with ridged underbellies.

Our group was hilariously enthusiastic and we overran our time schedule, but we ended up with a good collection of mushrooms. The next evening we cooked them round the bonfire with a bit of onion and whisked egg.
