Environmental center for Development Education and Networking (EDEN) celebrated the 11th consecutive year of the International Earth Day. The message of the year 2015 is "It's our turn to lead".

To have more connection in transmitting this year message, the celebration was organised near the Zoo park in Tirana, Albania where the Ecological center for Environmental Education, EDEN is situated. The activity was joined by the volunteers of the EDEN center and the students of the "Kristaq Rama" high school.The activity started with a presentation of the Ecological center for Environmental Education, EDEN, then its history and the services that this center offers for the education of the young people with environmental tools. The ecological center is a unique place near the Zoo, as it uses renewable energy sources, for example, solar for lightening its premises.

The celebration continued with a photo exhibition of posters reflecting energy efficiency projects realised in Albania and in the countries of South East Europe and exhibition of paintings done by the students of the high schools. The main message of the exhibition was related to the protection of Earth resources.

EDEN center staff made an informative presentation about the climate change, what causes it and what the consequences are in our daily life. The youngsters made their commitments on how they can change some of their habits to reduce their negative impact on the environment through interactive games and through some photo images showed from EDEN staff. They got more familiar in understanding the concept of the climate change and what it means to not have a contributory role.

At the end, the participants held some discussions in relations to the climate change, took a walk near the artificial lake of Tirana and stopped in a populated place where they opened their umbrellas and took the attentions of the people for a few minutes, spreading the message that the risk of climate change is near and each of us has the right and the duty to make an action to minimize its negative effects.
