On 5th of June "Active Young Citizens Initiative" NGO took part in the Environmental Achievements Exhibition devoted to the World Environment Day, exhibiting the "Eco generation" youth project, works and drawings of participants. During the exhibition, the project participants also presented the process of paper recycling.

RA Vice Prime Minister Vache Gabrielyan and Minister of Nature Protection Aramayis Grigoryan also attended the event.

During March and May this year, with the support of the Council for the Youth Issues adjunct to the Mayor of Yerevan, "Active Young Citizens Initiative" NGO and "Young Philanthropy Club" implemented "Eco generation" youth project. The project is aimed at raising youth awareness about ecology and the environment, which should contribute to increase of the sense of responsibility towards the environment and the city.

During a month of training, 20 pupils from 6th -7th grade and from 5 schools in Yerevan participated in theoretical and practical lessons during which the participants covered the topics of ecology, learned to prepare items from plastic, and made useful items from used paper. After the training course, the pupils along with the project staff participated in the citywide tree planting.

The final phase of the project was the Eco exhibition organised in Tumo park in Yerevan, where the works and drawings of all five schools were presented. All the participants recieved certificates of participation.
