July 30 closed the doors of the summer school 'Climate Ambassadors', which this year brought together around 100 young people from different regions of Moldova. During the summer school, in addition to unforgettable experience in a friendly atmosphere, youth was trained by experts from the environmental field. During the training sessions, the participants were introduced to environmental protection, as whole climate and methods of adaptation to climate change, energy efficiency, sustainable tourism, basics of fundraising, writing a project proposal, mobilization of human resources, organizing campaigns and activities involving young people, organizing and conducting environmental campaigns at local and regional level, analyzing different water samples, cooperation with local authorities and mass-media etc.

Also the participants were informed about other events of youth involvement by different environmental organization, such as expedition within the project "Save your River" conducted by the National Centre of Environment and summer school "Dniester-2016 'organized by Eco-TIRAS etc. In this way, we want to bring our sincere thanks to Mr. Ilya Trombitsky, Mrs. Maria Sandu, Ms. Irina Gutu, Mr. Vladimir Vlas, hall of Raculesti village, in the person of the mayor Mr. Vasile Frunza and Mrs. Gorpasin Galina, Mrs. Ina Coseru and Mrs. Iuliana Cantaragiu.

The summer school 'Climate Ambassadors' has already become a traditional event organized by the National Center 'Gutta-Club' and this year was the second edition. The aim of the event is to raise awareness, inform and motivate youth to become actively involved in volunteer activity at local and regional levels in the environment, especially in the field of climate change.

The 2016 edition of the summer school 'Climate Ambassadors', this year was organized in the youth summer camp 'Cusmarica' (Raculesti village, Criuleni district), from 20 till 30 July , under the motto "Youth of Moldova for a healthy climate". The event, organized within the project of the same name, brought together 75 students, aged between 14 and 18, from 15 different educational institutions, 15 leaders of the network "Climate Ambassadors" and 5 teacher-coordinators.

After they will come back in their schools, each already formed team, with local coordinator and 2 youth leaders, will implement the knowledge acquired during the summer school and will develop an action plan for the climate campaigns, held in their own schools, dedicated to the International Day of Climate Action. This campaign will be fully or partially financed by the mini-grants program of the project.

The project „Climate Ambassadors" it's implemented by National Centre 'Gutta-Club' with financial support of Ministry of Youth and Sport of Moldova and AO 'Ecocontact', through the program 'Climate Forum East of the Eastern Partnership Countries' (CFE II). This program is implemented with the financial support of the European Union, Austrian Development Cooperation and the Austrian Red Cross.
