EDEN Center planting seeds for the bees!

EDEN center has joined the training course "Be(e) the change", which was organised by YEE between 24-30 August 2016 in Prague, Czech Republic.

The training course was of interest of EDEN not only for the knowledge that was gained but especially for the topic and for raising awareness of the topic among the general public on a national level as well. The participants of this training were encouraged to do a follow-up, some local activities, in their own countries for bees. YEE provided the participants with colorful seeds for flowers to be planted that will grow up and that would be an added help for the bees survival.

Ardit Elezi, from EDEN center, that took part at the training, was involved in the seeds planting process. The flowers were planted on 22 April 2017, for the celebration of Earth Day that EDEN center organised for the 13th year in a row. The seeds were planted at the ecological Education center  EDEN, that is situated near the National Zoo Park in Tirana. You can see below, some of the pictures from this activity. We chose this place and this day as both of them were very good for the aim of this planting flowers activity for the bees.

Ardit and other volunteers of EDEN center and young children planted the seeds together in front of the ecological house. We really hope that we will have a colorful small garden in front of the zoo and we will have new friends, bees. This activity was part of the several activities that EDEN center organised on 22 April, as painting cotton bags, explore the nature nearby etc.

EDEN center is keen in following this issue and to spread as much as possible information for the bee protection. What is coming in our mind is alleged Albert Einstein quote for bees “If the bee disappeared off the surface of the globe then man would only have four years of life left. No more bees, no more pollination, no more plants, no more animals, no more man“. Even though this is quite dramatic quote we need to take instant action to not be afraid of the near future.

We will keep you updated for our flower and hopefully our new friends:)

The bee lovers from EDEN Center!
