The idea behind this section originates in our overall field of activity. As an organisation that is concerned 
about the environment and tries to raise awareness about these issues on a daily basis, we wanted to collect many valuable resources on one place. In the following chapters you will get to learn about the elements that influence the state of our environment constantly and increasingly, and also find other resources where you can have your questions answered in great detail. Therefore, we invite you to get informed, because only by obtaining the right information, we can learn what our role in the protection of the environment is.
Forests
Forests cover 31% of total land area. They produce vital oxygen and provide homes for people and wildlife. Many of the world's most threatened and endangered animals live in forests, and 1.6 billion people rely on benefits that forests offer, including food, fresh water, clothing, traditional medicine and shelter. Forests are complex ecosystems that are important for the carbon and water cycles that sustain life on earth. Surveys show that if we keep cutting down forests at today's rate, in the long term, it is going to cause a devastating chain of events both locally and around the world.
Tourism
The quality of the environment, both natural and man-made, is essential to tourism. However, tourism's relationship with the environment is complex. It involves many activities that can have adverse environmental effects. Many of these impacts are linked with the construction of general infrastructure such as roads and airports, and of tourism facilities, including resorts, hotels, restaurants, shops, golf courses and marinas.
On the other hand, tourism has the potential to create beneficial effects on the environment by contributing to environmental protection and conservation. (Resoure: UNEP)
Resource depletion
People and all the other beings on planet Earth depend on natural resources for meeting their needs for food, shelter energy etc. The studies show that the current consumption habits are causing depletion of the natural resources at a very fast rate, without leaving time for their replenishment. Natural resources like trees, coal, oil and natural gas are used as raw materials to manufacture or create a range of modern conveniences. The fast population growth, higher living standards and technological advancement is increasing the use of these resources at a rate where they do not have the time to recover.
Climate Change
Climate change is considered a natural process which happens on our planet, but it is needed a long time, millions of years or at least thousands of years for big climatic changes to occur. In the present days, the topic of climate change is widely spoken for, since Earth's temperature is changing in un-precedent rates. According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), the average over all land and ocean surface temperature has warmed roughly 1.53°F (0.85ºC) from 1880 to 2012. Based on previous changes in the climate, this fast change of climate on our planet cannot be explained by natural reasons.
Transport
Transport is connected with high rates of local pollution in the cities and high consumption of energy, usually non-renewable one. Sometimes our first transport option is not the most efficient and environmentally friendly.
People move and travel, they like to exlore. But by making the right choises, everybody can be an environmentally friendly traveller.
