World Habitat Day - Albania

albania_world_2_big On the World Habitat Day, October the 6th, EDEN Center transmitted the awareness message for the protection of forests. This initiative is a continuation of a series of activities taking place within the Forest Campaign, supported by the European Youth Foundation of the Council of Europe. The place that was chosen for this activity was at the hills of the Tirana Grand lake Park, one of the few green places in the capital. This park is the lungs of the capital and offers the citizens the opportunity to spend relaxing hours near the nature around.

albania_world_1_big During the morning hours of this day the volunteers of the EDEN center distributed the forest campaign raising awareness materials with the message for the forest protection and so automatically the protection of habitats. The awareness activity was done in the form of small conversations with the general public visiting the park that morning. On one of the benches, EDEN volunteers and also the interested public were painting and then distributing cotton bags as an alternative to reduce the usage of plastic bags in Albania which is a serious problem for the habitats.

We still have time and energy to think about the future of the Earth, since the desire to spend relaxing hours near forest belongs not only to us but to our children as well.
