Welcome to our 'Together for a Green Europe' campaign website! In the first half of 2012, YEE is organizing an international information and education campaign about environmental education for children. The campaign is running from January till June 2012 in 6 European countries and consists of diverse local eco activities encouraging children and youth to take care of European nature, their living environment.
The campaign is being coordinated by a group of young people from each of the participating countries - Armenia, Czech Republic, Georgia, Italy, Latvia, and Romania. Our campaign aims to mobilize young people in their local communities and show them how to become an active citizen. We also want to encourage young people to be active in the field of environmental education for their peers. We consider environmental education to be of high importance and it is not yet a component of most schools class work curriculum. In order to address this we decided to run our campaign at primary and secondary schools. It consists of workshops about different environmental topics (Ecosystems, biodiversity, nature conservation, wildlife, recycling, fresh water and health, food chain, etc.) and excursions to nature. This webpage is the home of the online part of our campaign. We will keep it regularly updated so that you can read about what we are currently doing. You can read short reports, see pictures from the different workshops and download the guidelines for environmental education, the follow-up booklet of our campaign. Enjoy reading! |
