Ketevan Kochladze - Member Organisations Officer |
Can you introduce yourself? Hello I am Ketevan from a very small resort town Borjomi, Georgia. I am an Experienced Quality Manager with a demonstrated history of working in the Environmental Services Industry. Skilled in Water Treatment and Information Technologies. I graduated the Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University faculty of exact and natural sciences and have a degree in Computer Science. Which YEE member organisation do you belong to? What are the main activities of your organization? I am a Vice President and an activist of Georgia Youth Eco Movement - SAEM, which is a member organisation of YEE network for already 22 years. SAEM is a non-governmental, non-for-profit youth environmental organisation uniting mostly school children and students under the age of 30 fully runned by young people. Main aims of organisation are: popularising nature studies, enhancing environmental awareness and improving public participation. How did you get involved in YEE? I participated in YEE Annual Meetings as a representative of my organisation and I took part in one study session, youth exchange, and several TC organised by YEE. I was elected as a Member Organisations Officer for the 2016-2017 business year. Could you tell us about your work in the Board last year? What were your main achievements? As an elected board member and Member Organisations Officer for the 2016/2017 business year, I successfully completed my Working Plan and successfully managed duties of MOO. My colleagues characterize me as a reliable person with a high sense of responsibility. During my first mandate, I improved my skills and knew how to work efficiently, independently and in a team-oriented way. As I am very familiar with YEE structure and know many of the member and partner organisations, this will not be an unfamiliar context for me – but rather an environment in which I feel rich. During my mandate, I was successfully leading Promo Posters Working group and was actively working in Web Page & HR policy working groups. I was working with YEE to organise a very successful International Water Campaign and local actions for successful Right to Be(e), Change Climate Change campaigns. How do you see the future of YEE? YEE is an organisation that is dear to me and that I want to see it succeed and expand in its reach. I believe that my previous experience has also provided me with an understanding of the challenges that YEE faces and will have to tackle during my mandate. I want to contribute more to this network that has given me so much, gain a better understanding of the behind-the- scenes work, and I am going to use my skills, knowledge, and experience to help YEE become even greater and more visible than it already is. Why did you want to stay in the Board? For sure I am willing to give space for young people and share this brilliant opportunity of Board membership and not occupy Board member positions for many years, I will be really glad to see more young motivated people in the Board as I am. What is your main aim as a Board member for 2017-2018? Stay dynamic, flexible, travel more, attend more international projects and for sure what is cherry on the cake - meet my international friends and new interesting people. As a previous Member Organisations Officer I am very much familiar with challenges which are present in the network regarding Member Organisations and willing to work more. Firstly, I will prepare for Member Organisations Officer Working plan. For me the main aim as a Members Organisation Officer is to use this motto: "How can I contribute to this network which network members will find truly helpful?" And then work hard to extend that help - whatever it is - to as many relevant people as possible. It is philosophical question what means for me enviroment, shortly it means everything. Try not to care and environment which surrounds us will give much more clear answer. |
