Monika Kotulak - YEE Project Officer and Vice-Chairperson |
How old/young are you? 24 Where do you live? Poland, city is not defined yet. What do you do (studies, work, etc)? Graduated from university with title Master of Science in Biology, currently looking for a job or volunteering opportunity. Which YEE Member Organization are you member of? What are your organization's main activities? Academic Section of Polish Land Lovers Society. We take care of mountain nature in Poland, Natura 2000 sites, promote sustainable tourism and cultural heritage of mountain areas. Why did you want to become a member of the YEE board? I wanted to share my knowledge and skills and also develop them further. Two years ago I've been working as board member, therefore I know how it works and I really liked it. With this experience this year I can focus on my tasks as project officer. I chose this position because I'm interested in developing valuable projects which are bringing a change. This is also a great opportunity to work in an international team with those fantastic people! What is your main aim as 2011-2012 Board Member? I would like to bring attention on environmental input of our projects. I would also like to encourage our Member Organizations to organize local projects and to cooperate more with each other. On the other side, I really would like to push YEE one level higher in international campaigns and involvement in creating or changing policy to be more environmentally focused. Which environmental problem worries you the most? Lack of environmental consciousness of people which I think is base of all other problems and crisis. Also low level of public participation in nature protection. What is your favorite place in nature? Forest! |
