In Armenia, among the social initiatives, huge attention is paid to actions aimed at environmental protection and preservation of green spaces, actions devoted to the protection of areas such as Teghut, Kadjaran, Hrazdan, Trchkan or Alaverdi. Many activist groups recently formed are fighting for the preservation of Armenian nature and picturesque places that are expected to be used for other purposes by the Government and other organizations.

Media reflects on those issues a lot by exploring and disclosing some issues, but at the same time by leaving some circumstances implicit, secret. There is a need, by analyzing the field, getting acquainted with the viewpoints of both sides, to present the formed image to the society. Research the field and get final results.

From 1st February, 2012 the NGOs «Generation of Independence» and «Active Young Citizens Initiative» initiated the "Study of social initiatives and informational support" project.

The main objectives of the project are:

• Study all problems related to the environment in Armenia
• Analyze and represent both sided viewpoints on the issue
• Promote the dissemination of complete information without partiality and any changes
• By maintaining neutrality study the situation of different issues and introduce the present situation in the field
• Cooperating with the media and ensuring active participation of social networks
• Collect complete information and provide the information to the society

In the scope of the project informational support is organized and provided to all organizations, individuals and groups that are working in the Republic of Armenia to raise and solve environmental issues.

Active Young Citizens Initiative (Armenia)
