How old are you?

I was born on the last day of the winter, in February 1988. I'm 26.

Where do you live?

I've been living in Transylvania since I was born. I was raised in a small city, in SE of this central region of Romania, called Deva - from the ancient Dacian word "dava", meaning fortress. Since I finished high school, I'm living in one of the most important university cities in Romania called Cluj-Napoca.

What do you do?

I'm an environmentalist, fresh graduate of the Environmental Sciences Faculty with a master degree in Management and Environmental Protection.

Since my second year of University I've been part of an NGO called Green Echoes Association. Through its projects, I have the opportunity to apply and to improve my knowledge regarding environment protection and most importantly to contribute to raising awareness of its issues and promote the preservation of the natural environment.

I'm also a violinist in „Claudiopolis" Youth Chamber Orchestra and violin teacher in Cluj-Napoca. I graduated from the Faculty of Musical Performance in „Gh. Dima" Music Academy, strings department. In my spare time, between violin recitals, I love dancing, singing, swimming, skiing or mountain hiking.

Which YEE Member Organization are you a member of? What are your organization's main activities?

I'm a member of Green Echoes Association, which aims to contribute to the sustainable development of society by preserving biodiversity, promoting responsible tourism and environmental education, supporting ethical initiatives and through multidisciplinary projects.

What do you enjoy most about being a YEE Board member and why did you choose to stay?

People. Working in this team was not only productive, efficient, but also a lot of fun. I can say that in the last year I've grew up not only on professional level, but also as a human being. I have a strong desire to bring about a positive change in people's attitudes towards the environment, and working in a team with young people with whom I can share the same passion and enthusiasm increases the chance of success. Also, working on an international level represents a challenge and an opportunity to share and to improve my knowledge, to develop my skills and to contribute more to YEE's development as a voice of youth in the environmental field.

What are your main achievements from your previous mandate?

Firstly, I understood what a project officer should do and how to be more organised and efficient. The biggest realisations are the steps that I started to build in order to create new partnerships (with the Dinosaurs Geopark from Tara Hategului - which is recognised at European level and included in the European Geoparks Network, and with Cluj-Napoca European Youth Capital) that could help YEE to improve their projects and open the door for other funding sources.

What is your main aim as 2014-2015 Board Member?

To raise the quality of YEE's projects, beginning with raising the awareness of environmental issues inside the member organisations and involving more environmentalists in its activities/actions.

Which environmental problem worries you the most?

There are plenty of classifications for environmental problems, based on their impact, but every single one is important and worries me. I believe that people's attitudes regarding these issues is what worries me the most, especially the younger generations (due to their energy, they represent a great potential in making a difference). Most of the population prefer to take all the advantages that nature offers forgetting that everything in this world is interconnected.

What is your favorite place in the nature?

I love nature, it makes me feel full of life, but the strongest connection is in the mountains; every single time I am sitting on the grass, admiring the surroundings and listening to the "quiet".
