Cleaning the nature in Latvia

On April 21 we went out in the nature to clean it after the winter and snow. We did not have much trash in the nature, because in our region there are many people cleaning the area often, and also inhabitants are educated to understand that the trash should not be thrown away wherever. However outside the centres of populated places there is more garbage, especially next to the roads when people just throw out things from their cars. WSH-51

Every year we have the nature cleaning that is a national event. This year we were working close to our school - we collected old leaves and grass, and picked up the garbage. We also went outside of our town where we collected the rubbish along the countryside's road.

Conclusions by participants:
Marta Suveizda (10th class): I am really concerned about the environment I am living in and how beautiful and clean it is, therefore cleaning our nature was really important and valuable for ourselves, because not till then when you have cleaned some places, you can understand that it is time-consuming and sometimes really difficult, and that better solution is simply not to litter and take care about the environment every day.

Oskars Nikolajevs (8th class): I could not imagine that outside of the town on the sides of roads of the countryside there is so much garbage. Myself, I never throw out papers or other things from the car, and thus I misbelieved that others do the same.

Sofija Reine (8th class): I would like to participate in such activities more than once in a year then it would be easier to keep the surroundings clean. I wish to all of us and other to love Latvia and to keep it clean and beautiful.
