Hi! My name is Steph. I’m originally from Brazil, but for the past 9 years I’ve been living mainly in Europe in places such as Berlin, Madrid, Bucharest and (currently) Rome.

Steph, tell us a bit more about yourself!

My academic background is a bilingual bachelor’s in International Studies, obtained from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Together with my personal background, it has led me to develop a special interest for migration flows and trends and its connections to human rights, gender, and the environment.

I am currently a master’s degree student of Development and International Cooperation Sciences at the Sapienza University of Rome and I believe that taking part in a youth organization such as YEE is a great opportunity to be in touch with individuals, member organizations and institutions who are currently responsible and contribute to shaping the future of the policies and mechanisms that will take place both within and outside of the EU with the aim of mitigating climate change.

What are some of the causes you care about?

I’m most passionate about migration, gender equality and environmental awareness and in the interconnection among all of these topics.

What do you hope the world will look like in 2050?

I hope that by then national borders will be less felt and that gender stereotypes will be reduced to an abnormality within our societies. I also hope that our relation with the environment will have become more sustainable and truly friendly.

If you could time-travel, what era would you like to visit and why?

I would love to be able to experience first hand the 80s and the 90s due to its musical panorama and all of the changing geopolitical trends in the world then.
