Run4Nature | Workshop + Run | EU Nature Restoration Law

Join us at an interactive workshop about nature restoration followed by a relay run to the Czech Ministry of Environment.

Background

After the failure to meet the objectives of the EU Biodiversity Strategy for 2020, there is a need for urgent action to halt biodiversity loss and degradation of ecosystems.

At the end of March 2022, the European Commission will present a draft of the new EU law to restore nature. With this event, we want to highlight that the nature restoration debate is about the interests of young people and future generations. The upcoming EU nature restoration law can be a game-changer – but only if done right!

What you can expect

Workshop

We will try to answer the following questions:
– What is nature restoration?
– Why do we need an ambitious nature restoration law?
– What is the role of the upcoming Czech Presidency in setting a high ambition for nature restoration in the EU and globally?

Relay run

We need 27 runners. Each runner takes on part of the route and hands an envelope with messages of young people collected during the workshop to the next runner. The envelope will be passed on to the Ministry of Environment – the final stop of the relay run.

Why running? We need to make nature “fit” again to reverse biodiversity loss and avert the worst consequences of climate change – preserving the planet for the next generations.
