Overview

Legal Seeds is now in its fourth edition, continuing our commitment to empower and engage young people in environmental law. Building on the successes achieved in the previous years,  for 2024-2025 Legal Seeds continues its focus on enhancing the capacity of young climate activists, particularly in climate litigation and active participation in legal processes. We are committed to boosting youth participation in legal and policy-making processes, ensuring that the voices of the youth are heard and considered in critical environmental decisions.

Main topics:

Who is the project for?

Legal Seeds is addressed to young people passionate about environmental law and climate activism, regardless of their legal background. Legal Seeds connects youth with the legal processes that shape environmental policy, focusing particularly on the Aarhus Convention and EU environmental advocacy.

The project is also tailored to young activists who are already involved in climate litigation, offering them a platform and network to deepen their impact through the Youth Climate Law Hub. The project aims to provide advocacy support to youth already engaged in climate litigation while helping young activists to establish connections and contribute to a stronger youth presence in environmental law and policy.

Objectives

Advocate for more ambitious EU environmental and climate laws, as well as for systemic youth participation in environmental decision-making processes.

Run workshops and webinars, in collaboration with universities and other partners to enhance youth knowledge in environmental and climate legal issues.

Coordinate a dynamic network for youth to discuss and share litigation opportunities, advocacy initiatives, and campaign strategies on climate and environmental legal matters
